Teamsters Local 777 racked up two organizing victories in Schaumburg, Ill. with two different companies in the last two weeks as workers at a Verilife call center voted 15-0 last week and workers at an Enlightened Dispensary, owned by Revolution Global, voted 13-1 yesterday to organize with the union.

“The Teamsters are looking forward to negotiating for proper wages, fair treatment, safety standards and a voice on the job. We’re committed to ensuring that cannabis can be a long-term, sustainable career for everyone we represent,” said union spokesman Matthew Quaid.

“We look forward to bargaining in good faith to ensure we can remain an employer of choice, all while we advance our mission together of innovating and formulating the cannabis products of tomorrow,” said a spokesman for Revolution Global.

“As we have done many times before, we will bargain in good faith with any union that has standing to represent our employees,” wrote a representative from PharmaCann, which operates the Verilife brand.

The Verilife call center is the sixth cannabis business in Illinois to organize with Local 777. A number of other Illinois dispensaries have also organized with the Union of Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW) Local 881.

Meanwhile, two weeks ago, workers voted 10-4 at a Cresco-owned Sunnyside dispensary in Cincinnati, Ohio to organize with UFCW Local 75.
