Grown In honored in Cannabis 50 list
Last week Grown In was named one of the Cannabis 50, an annual list of U.S. companies and individuals, “making wide-ranging impacts across the fabric of cannabis, hemp and CBD culture.” The list, created by national accounting firm MGO LLP, this year includes notables like BeLeaf founder Mitch Meyers, The Parent Company founder Jay-Z, and cannabis investment innovator Intrinsic Capital.

“In the fast-growing Midwest market, Grown In has emerged as a leading and trusted voice detailing both the triumphs and failures of the newly legal markets in Illinois, Michigan, Missouri, and beyond,” said the Cannabis 50 report.
Michigan NORML’s Matt Abel stepping down
After almost ten years of leading the organization, Michigan NORML executive director says, “I’m going to declare victory,” and let someone else take the reins. Abel shepherded the organization through the legalization of both medical and recreational cannabis in Michigan.
“I think it’s time to pass it on to another generation, we could use some fresh blood,” Abel said.
One of Michigan’s first cannabis attorneys, twenty-five years ago Abel launched his cannabis practice in free office space provided by a friend. Now, his firm, Rivertown Law Firm, includes five cannabis-focused attorneys.
“I’m going to stay on as an activist. I’m a founding member of the International Cannabis Bar Association board of directors, and I’m chair of the advocacy committee,” he told Grown In.
