Organizers from United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW) Local 881 announced late Wednesday that workers at a Windy City Cannabis dispensary on North Side Chicago voted to organize. Last month Curaleaf purchased the dispensary – on Weed Street – from previously independent Windy City.
The unionizing vote is part of a larger effort by UFCW to organize cannabis facilities across the Midwest, including successful votes at a Cresco Labs cultivation site in Joliet, Illinois and a Cresco Labs dispensary in Chicago.
