About 74% of voters in New Hampshire support the legalization of adult use cannabis, according to a recent University of New Hampshire poll.
The vote was not a shocker for advocates who previously worried about any legalization bills’ chances in the conservative senate.
In one week’s time, the total number of applications for the Cannabis license lotteries jumped from 1,039 as of the morning of April 21, to 4,714 on April 28. The largest jumps were in the lotteries for retail, micro-cultivation, medical-adult-use hybrid licenses. The window for retail applications closes on Wednesday, April 4.
The anti-gifting component of the bill came after the emergence of large gifting events following the legalization of adult use cannabis in Connecticut in July, 2021.
Delivery operators must obtain a storage facility and vehicles, which means a potentially lower startup cost compared to a retail storefront. The downside is the higher operating cost of delivery.
From now until the end of summer, the commissioners and the rest of the agency will internally look at specific regulations that could potentially be created or updated.
