New Jersey has sold $79,698,831 in adult use cannabis since it launched sales on April 21 through the end of June – the second quarter of 2022. That comes on top of $59,262,014 of medical sales during the second quarter of 2022, a perk up from first quarter sales of $55,838,072, according to the state’s Cannabis Regulatory Commission.
The CRC has not yet posted weekly or monthly sales data for May or June, but in May the agency reported $9,053,838 in adult use sales for the last two weeks of April. Extrapolating that data, it appears the state is on pace for an average of about $35.3 million of adult use sales per month. Those numbers are in line with Illinois’ average monthly sales at the launch of its adult use program, which ran about $35 million a month of sales for the first four months.
Illinois has about 3 million more residents than New Jersey.
