Recovering from looting two weeks ago, NuMed’s Chicago location reopens today for recreational customers. It had already opened for medical customers on Tuesday.
“Our dispensary at 1308 West North Ave. was broken into on the night of Saturday, May 30th. None of our staff were on site at that time and we are very relieved that everyone was safe and secure,” NuMed said in a statement. “With the guidance of our State regulators, we have updated our security features and protocols for the safety of our staff and customers. We have taken this very seriously in order to provide the safest and most comfortable atmosphere possible.”
Midway Dispensary and Sunnyside dispensaries in Lakeview and River North, which also sustained damage from looting, have also fully reopened.
The Herbal Care Center dispensary in Tri-Taylor and the Mission Dispensary in South Shore both remained closed as of publication.
“We’re likely looking at [opening in] mid- to late July. But still finalizing details,” said owner of Mission Dispensary, 4Front Ventures’ president, Kris Krane.
