Illinois and Michigan cannabis sales stayed steady for another month, continuing an unprecedented four month plateau for each around $145 million in monthly sales this last June. Meanwhile, Missouri medical cannabis sales continued to inch up in June, reaching $16.4 million in sales as the state hit 125 operating dispensaries.
Michigan’s overall sales, $149 million, is increasingly due to growing adult-use sales, reaching an all time high of $107.4 million, as medical sales collapse. Adult-use retail locations have been opening at a fast clip, as the state has certified 319 adult-use stores as of July. Michigan has 408 active, certified medical provisioning centers.
Illinois’ adult-use sales have essentially stayed the same since April, when a wave of two dozen stores opened following a state deadline to use it or lose it by March 31. While adult-use sales skyrocketed about $30 million on a monthly basis between February and April 2021, they have leveled out since then to hover around $115 million a month.
