Prior to reporting for Grown In, Cynthia was a politics reporter for Spotlight PA, a nonpartisan newsroom based in Harrisburg and reported at the Boston Globe. In 2019 she graduated from Boston University, where she completed an undergraduate degree in journalism with a concentration in computer science. A native Spanish speaker, Cuban immigrant, and refugee raised in Hialeah, Florida, Cynthia is particularly interested in reporting on marginalized communities and how they interface with political, institutional, and governmental systems.

Marcy Alspach, Senior Account Executive & Implementation Specialist
Marcy is the bridge between customer intuition and scientific understanding in the cannabis industry. As a registered nurse she led as an educator in the acute care setting at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago. More recently, she acted as an operations and product expert as the lead medical consultant responsible for staff education and sales management inside a leading national cannabis MSO. Marcy has experience in many roles within the cannabis industry and she uses this insight to bring cannabis science and commerce together in a way that benefits both cannabis companies and their consumers.

Monica Wells, Business Development Executive & Sales and Marketing Coordinator
One of the first Grown In employees, Monica coordinates the company’s sales and marketing teams, manages planning and execution of sales and marketing, gathers market intelligence, and supervises sales and marketing tasks among junior team members.
Previously she oversaw HR functions for a reputable MSO in the Midwest region. Monica’s prior experience in cannabis provided her with an understanding of cannabis businesses, their culture, operations, procedures, and their needs for success. “The future is bright in cannabis education,” Monica says, “And I’m incredibly grateful to be a part of it !”
