A new name, a reopened dispensary, and the czar’s cannabis corner

NuMed becoming NuEra

NuMed Dispensaries, which acquired a cultivation site in May from PharmaCann, is rebranding to NuEra Cannabis, for its three dispensaries in Urbana, East Peoria, and Chicago, as well as its cultivation site in Rochelle, Illinois. The company is also launching a new flower and preroll brand under the same name. “The change from Med to Era highlights their expansion to serving both medical patients and the newer ‘recreational’ cannabis consumers,” said a release from the company.

Mission South Chicago Dispensary reopens July 31

Heavily damaged by looters during the late May riots, the Mission South Chicago Dispensary announced that it is reopening Friday, July 31 at 9:00 a.m. “We are proud to be re-opening after two months of repair, and we hope you will join us as we celebrate the big day!” said a message texted to customers on Wednesday.

Illinois’ new Cannabis Corner

Illinois Cannabis Czar Toi Hutchinson has a newsletter now, “Cannabis Corner”. The first issue came out last week, sent as a PDF to email addresses submitted through the state’s Cannabis Resource Site. Anodyne in approach, it contains little new information and is mostly a recap of application deadline dates, a catchy picture of Czar Toi Hutchinson with a brief welcoming image from her.
